Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - September 1, 1991

Walter J. Banks, of the 100 block of E. Indian River Road, a nurseryman, 
died Aug. 29, 1991 in a hospital.
Mr. Banks was born in Portsmouth and was employed with Wynn Nursery. He was 
a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. Banks; two daughters, Barbara Ann 
Robinson of Norfolk and Loretta McNeil of Portsmouth; a stepdaughter, 
Charlene Packer of Sacramento, Calif.; a son, Junie Banks of Portsmouth; two 
sisters, Clarine Fobes and Irene Banks, both of Portsmouth; a brother, 
Raymond Banks of Portsmouth; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Magnolia 
Cemetery by the Rev. Joseph Lassiter. Family and friends will assemble at 
the residence at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday for the procession to the cemetery. 
Metropolitan Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
