George F. Banks, highly respected citizen, departed this life Saturday, March
21, after a short illness. His funeral was held from the First United
Presbyterian Church of which he was a member, Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., Rev. B. B.
Evans, officiating. A large number of friends gathered to pay their respects,
and after a brief and inspiring service his remains were laid to rest in Calvary
Cemetery. Pall bearers were Harvey Robinson, H. T. Dickey, C. A. Palmer, Ernest
Moseley, Milford Davis, and Walter L. Davis.

Mr. Banks is survived by his wife, Vessie M. Banks, one son, one daughter, three
brothers, one sister, and a host of friends.
