Norfolk - Richard S. Banks, of 1006 Compos Place, died Saturday, Dec. 7, in
Norfolk Community Hospital.

A native of Disputanta, he was the husband of Mrs. Eleanor Banks.  He was
retired from the International Longshoreman’s Assn., after 40 years.

In addition to his widow, other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bernice
Huskey of Norfolk, and Mrs. Margie Epps of Newport News;  two sons, Milton L.
Banks and James A. Banks, both of Norfolk;  three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Spivey of
New York, Mrs. Eva Epps of Disputanta, and Mrs. Lillian Hatchett of Norfolk;  a
brother, Russell Banks;  18 grandchildren;  and 3 great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 10, in Jones Funeral Chapel, by the
Rev. H. C. Felton.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
