Mrs. Bettie Jackson Bray Banks, a resident of Norfolk for 67 years, was given 
final rites Wednesday at Lamberts Point First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Banks died at her home at 1511 W. 42nd street on Friday. Her funeral was 
conducted by the Rev. H. Hudson Bobbitt. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery under 
direction of Hale Funeral Home.

The deceased was a native of Mecklenburg County. A member of First Baptist and 
one of the church’s missionary workers, she was also an employee of the Marine 
Hospital for 17 years.

Survivors include a daughter, Miss Alice E. Bray of Norfolk; and three sisters, 
Mrs. Lina Dortch of South Hill and Mrs. Ida Franklin and Mrs. Cora Cooke of 
Norfolk.
