                   John A. Banks Dies; Norfolk Pharmacist

John Asa Banks, 55, Norfolk pharmacist, died at a Norfolk hospital last night at 
8:45 o'clock.
Mr. Banks was a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 805 Redgate 
Avenue at the time of his death. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church, the Holy Name Society of that church and the Knights of Columbus. He was 
the son of the late Charles F. Banks.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Teresa Lillston Banks, he is survived by one daughter, 
Miss Anne Teresa Banks, of Danville; one son, John Asa Banks, Jr., of Richmond; 
his mother, Mrs. Mary Adelaide Ross Ansell, of Norfolk; four sisters, Mrs. W.J. 
White, Mrs. D.W. Causey, Mrs. Andrew O'Rourke, all of Norfolk and Mrs. L.W. 
Nunnally, of Roanoke and an aunt, Miss Clarine Ross, of Norfolk.
The body was taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

BANKS, JOHN ASA - At a local hospital, Saturday, April 29, 1950, at 8:45 p.m., 
John Asa Banks, husband of Mrs. Teresa Lillston Banks and son of Mrs. Mary 
Adelaide Ross Ansell and the late Charles F. Banks, in the 56th year of his age.  
Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
Avenue, to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services Tuesday morning at 10 
o'clock.  Friends of the family are invited to attend.  Interment, St. Mary's 
Cemetery.
