She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on June 7, 1946, to George J. Pabst and Wilma Schlegel Pabst, who preceded her in death, along with her brother, George Pabst, and sister, Debbie Walters. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She was a loving, compassionate and loyal wife, as well as an unconditionally giving mother. Through much adversity, Gerrie always exhibited much patience, faith and remarkable strength. She was an angel on this earth. She welcomed challenges and setbacks with optimism, only drawing the goodness from every facet of life. She will always be loved and missed dearly by her family and friends. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 49 years, Francis Patrick Bannon, Jr.; two sons, Francis Patrick Bannon, III, and his wife, Debbie, and George Bannon and wife, Keri; a daughter, Christine Barnes, and her husband, Chris; 11 adoring grandchildren and one great-grandchild, expected in June. Her memory will live on with surviving brother, Tim Pabst; sisters, Scarlett Gore and Jill Riebe. She will also be remembered by many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The family will receive visitors Monday, January 30, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Ave. A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, January 31, at 11 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
