Virginian Pilot February 19, 1966

Mrs. Carmela Salomone Barbarisi, 51, of 214 E. 27th St., wife of Joseph John 
Barbarisi and daughter of James and Mrs. Katherina Salomone, died Friday at 7:30 
a.m. in a hospital.
A native of Pennsylvania, she lived in Norfolk 29 years. She was a member of 
Sacred Heard Catholic Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Miss Mary Ann Barbarisi of 
Norfolk; four sons, Joseph John Barbarisi of Fairfax, Richard James Barbarisi of 
the Army, stationed in Germany and Robert Anthony Barbarisi and Paul Anthony 
Barbarisi of Norfolk; and a sister, Mrs. Mary Spoletine and two brothers, Thomas 
Salomone and Joseph Salomone, all of Pennsylvania.
The Rosary will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Monday at 7:30 p.m.
A funeral service will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Tuesday at 10 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

BARBARISI, CARMELA SALOMONE - At a local hospital, Thursday, February 17, 1966, 
at 7:30 p.m., Carmela Salomone Barbarisi, wife of Joseph John Barbarisi, and 
daughter of the late James and Katherina Salomone, in the 52nd year of her age.  
Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for services Tuesday at 10 a.m.  Friends of the family are 
invited to attend.  Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.  Rosary services at the 
funeral home Monday at 7:30 p.m.
