Norfolk - Final rites for Mrs. Arlean Barbee of 930 Avenue H were conducted
Sunday in Zion Light Church of Christ with the Rev. J. T. Jones officiating. 
Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.

A Concord, NC, native, she was a daughter of James Smoot and Mrs. Esther Smoot
and “wife of the late Rufus Smoot”(exactly what is shown).  She died Oct. 14 in
a hospital after a long illness.

Mrs. Barbee was a member of the Zion Missionary Circle of Zion Light Church and
was a member of King David Lodge 6.  She also was a member of Benevolent Social
and Savings Club.

She is survived only by cousins.
