NORFOLK - Bernard Joseph Barber, of 2414 Ludlow St. died Thursday at 5 a.m. in a 
hospital after a short illness.

A native of Philadelphia, he was a son of Mrs. Julia B. Bland and the late 
Thomas Barber and the husband of Mrs. Alma Barber.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Besides his widow and mother, surviving are a foster sister, Mrs. Frances 
McLaurin, and his stepfather, William Bland, both of Norfolk.

A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Riddick Funeral Home by the 
Rev. J. Jasper Freeman. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
