Barber of 859 Washington Ave., wife of Theodore Barber Sr., died Sunday in Philadelphia after a short illness. Born in Mt. Olive, N.C., she was a daughter of James and Mrs. Mattie Armwood. She was member of New Calvary Baptist Church. Besides her husband, surviving are three sons, Maurice A. barber and Theodore Barber of Norfolk and Rodney Barber of Ft. Knox, Ky.; two brothers, Lonnie Armwood of Gary, Ind., and Willie Armwood of Mt. Olve; and five sisters, Mrs. Allie P. Pearsall of Newark, N.J., Mrs. Essie Coley and Mrs. Lillian Brown of Philadelphia, Mrs. Inez Watson of Wilson, N.C., and Mrs. Ernestine Sampson of Gary. A funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in New Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. S.A. Wilson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
