Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thurday Oct. 23, 1952
Mrs. Alice Ropes Barcroft, 90, widow of John W. Barcroft and daughter of Alfred 
Dwight and Mrs. Mary Caroline Esty Blake, a native of Massachusetts and a resident 
of Norfolk for 87 years, died yesterday at 10:15 a.m. at the residence, 426 
Pembroke Avenue.
Surviving are one granddaughter, Mrs. Henry J. Macon, of Norfolk, and a number of 
nieces and nephews.
Services will be conducted at the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments today at 3:30 
p.m. by the Rev. Dr. Edward H. Jones, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church.  
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
