The Virginian Pilot Monday April 11, 1960 
Osma P. Barham Sr., 86, died Sunday in a Norfolk hospital. 
A native of Southampton County, he had resided in Norfolk 60 years and was a 
member of Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. 
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Gildea Barham; four sons, Osma P. 
Barham Jr. and William S. Barham of Norfolk, Robert B. Barham of 
Philadelphia and Herbert D. Barham of Rochester, N.Y.; four daughters, Mrs. 
Mildred J. Dalton, Mrs. Evelyn Hosteller and Mrs. Gertrude Ann Davenport of 
Norfolk and Mrs. Manie Mazzara of New Orleans; three brothers, Addis L. 
Barham of Portsmouth, Emmett Barham of Richmond and Harry Barham of Raleigh; 
three sisters, Mrs. Jesse Fleetwood of Severn, N.C., Mrs. Ercella Smith of 
La Crosse and Mrs. Susie Drewry of Capron; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-
grandchildren; 
A funeral service will be held in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Tuesday at 
noon by the Rev. Peyton B. Williams of Christ and St. Luke’s Church with 
burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
