The Norfolk Virginian Pilot April 21, 1936 

Bennett Thomas Barham, aged 68, died at the residence, 920 Moran Avenue, 
yesterday afternoon at 1:35 o’clock. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. 
J.L. Martin, Mrs. H.W. Rogerson and Mrs. Christy McBride, of Norfolk, and Mrs. 
Harry W. Dewey, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; five sons, P.M., R.C., D.T., and W.T. 
Barham, of Norfolk, and T.J. Barham, of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. 
D.B. Blackwood, of Norfolk, and Mrs. H.O. Gates and Mrs. Douglass Christian, of 
Richmond; a brother, Robert Barham, of Norfolk, and 13 grandchildren.
Mr. Barham was born in New Kent County, and had resided in Norfolk for 40 
years. For the last 20 years was employed by the Seaboard Air Line Railway. 
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home tomorrow 
afternoon at 3:30 o’clock. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
