The Virginian Pilot Saturday November 2, 1968


Norfolk-Mrs. Elizabeth Gildea Barham, 78, of 1448 Melrose Parkway died 
Friday in a hospital.
She was the widow of Osma Porter Barham and a daughter of Thomas and Mrs. 
Septemia Flippo Braithwaite.
A native of Spotsylvania County, she lived her most of her life. She was a 
member of Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mildred G. Dalton and Mrs. Evelyn B. 
Hostetler of Norfolk, and Mrs. Trudy B. Davenport of Virginia Beach; and 
four sons, Osma P. Barham Jr. of Norfolk, William S. Barham of Roanoke, 
Robert B. Barham of Virginia Beach and Herbert D. Barham of Brackport, N.Y.
A funeral service will be held in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Sunday at 
2 p.m. by the Rev. A. Heath Light. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. The 
family will be at 6109 Bromley Court.
