CHESAPEAKE - Betty Tynes Barlow of 1029 Main Creek Road died Friday in a 
hospital.

She was a native of Smithfield and the widow of Joseph Barlow. She was a member 
of First Baptist Church, Bute Street, its deaconess board, Do-All-You-Can Club 
and missionary circle, and was employed as a domestic worker.

Survivors include a daughter, Bettie Owens of Chesapeake; a brother, Watson 
Tynes of Warren, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in First Baptist Church, Bute Street, by 
the Rev. T.M. Venable. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

The family will be at Hale Funeral Home from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The body will 
be in the church at 10:30 a.m. Monday.
