Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, November 14, 1990 
Olla B. Barnes, of the 100 block of Seekel St., died Nov. 12, 1990, in a hospital.

Mrs. Barnes, a retired domestic employee, was a native of Norfolk. She was the
widow of James A. Barnes Sr. and was a member of First Baptist Church Bolling
Brook.

Survivors include three daughters, Sadie L. Barnes, Flora B. Johnson and Audrey
Sweatt, and a son, John P. Barnes Sr., and four sisters, Beluah Braxton, Zadie
Walker, Eva McNaughton and Gladys Joyner, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Howard
Holmes nad Edward Holmes, both of New York City; 20 grandchildren and 26
great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Oakwood Chapel Church by the
Rev. Joseph Price. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the
family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
