A native of Olean, N.Y., she was the widow of Fletcher Edward Barnes and a daughter of Thomas Martin and Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Coolidge Kriss. She lived in South Norfolk 59 years and was organist at Graham Funeral Home 28 years. She was a member of South Norfolk Baptist Church and its organist 46 years and a member of Friendship Chapter 47, Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are a son, Edward K. Barnes of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. Florence Dunning of Dahlgren; a half brother, Perry M. Kriss of Florida; two granddaughters, Mrs. E.L. Bryant Jr. and Miss Ellen Barnes; and a great- grandson, James Megginson, all of Chesapeake. A funeral service will be conducted in Graham Funeral Home today at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Frank Hughes Jr. of South Norfolk Baptist Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
