Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - February 5, 2014
 Norfolk - Mary Alice Everett-Barnes "Baby Sister" passed away January 31, 
2014 at the age of 66. She was born in Norfolk, VA on June 7, 1947 and 
attended Booker T. Washington High School. Mary attended Enoch Baptist 
Church and worked several years as a supply clerk for Naval Base Bldg 143 
and General Electric. Mary was predeceased by her mother, Mary Everett; 
father, Fred Everett and great grandson, Andrew Asir Johnson. She leaves to 
cherish her memory husband, Glenn Barnes; one daughter, Vernisa Mays (Kem); 
son, Murice English; five sisters, Margie Bryant, Shirley Cousin, Deloris 
Ecklin, Gwendolyn Green and Naomi McGuire; three brothers, Fred Everett Jr., 
Bernard Everett and Tyrone Everett; two grandchildren, Letisha English and 
LaMarr English; five great grandchildren, Antonio Johnson, LaMarr English 
Jr., Zah'Marr English, Jertae English and Keyon English. Services will be 
held 11:30 am Friday, February 7, 2014 at Enoch Baptist Church, Dr. Michael 
Daniels presiding. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will 
be held Thursday at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Berkley Avenue.
