Barnes, daughter of the late Wm. H. Barnes, died at the residence of her sister, Mrs. H.I. Wicks, on Berkley avenue, after a prolonged illness. The deceased was well-known and held in the highest esteem by a host of friends, She leaves two sisters, the one mentioned above and Mrs. Sykes, also on Berkley avenue. The funeral will be conducted from the family residence this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, with Rev. W. Asbury Christian officiating. The interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery. ************************************************************* The funeral of Miss Maacah E. Barnes was held from the residence of her sister, Mrs. H.I. Wicks, on Berkley avenue, yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock and was attended by a host of friends of the deceased and family. The services were conducted by Rev. W. Asbury Christian, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church. Flowers were carried by loved ones and laid on and about the casket until the deceased seemed to sleep beneath a scene of floral beauty. At the conclusion of the services the remains were conveyed to Magnolia Cemetery, where they were laid to rest by the side of the father who preceded her but a few months ago. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers: Messrs. G. D. Williams, S.W. Lyons, Jobe Manning, J.J. Ottley, Lycurgus Berkley, F.M. Smith, Harry L. West and Chas. Wicks.
