Brambleton Ave. died Wednesday in a hospital. A native of Princess Anne County, he was a son of Samuel and Mrs. Eliza Barnes and the husband of Mrs. Lillie Bell Barnes. He was a member of St. John AME Church, Men's Usher Board, and Men's Bible Class. He was a 36-year retired meat clerk of Colonial Stores. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Samuel Jerome Barnes of Norfolk; two brothers, Frederick Barnes and Eugene Barnes, and two sisters, Mrs. Sarah F. Owens and Mrs. Annie Henson, all of Philadelphia; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. John AME Church by the Rev. R.W. Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Riddick Funeral Service has charge.
