Norfolk - Elmo Barnes of 1526 Carey Ave., the husband of Mrs. Virginia B. 
Barnes, died Feb. 2 in Hampton Veterans Hospital.

A native of Franklin, he was a World War II veteran of the Army Air Corps. He 
was a retired dietician cook of Portsmouth Naval Hospital where he worked 18 
years.

Besides his widow, survivors include a daughter, Miss Hazel Lee Barnes of New 
York; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Pearline Shepheard, and an adopted son, Daniel 
A. Parker, both of Norfolk.

A funeral service was held Feb. 10 in Macedonia United Church of Christ by the 
Rev. Umfort E. Locus Jr. Burial, with military honors, was in Calvary Cemetery. 
Riddick Funeral Service had charge.
