Norfolk Virginian March 15, 1887

We are pained to learn of the death of our esteemed and well known townsman 
Mr. Thomas Barrett.

The funeral of Mr. Thomas Barrett took place yesterday afternoon at 3 
o'clock from the Christian Church.  The ceremonies were conducted by Rev. 
H.H. Butler, assisted by Rev. G.A. Bebee, after which the remains were 
conveyed to Magnolia Cemetery for interment.  The following gentlemen acted 
as pallbearers:  S.S. Butler, W.C. Gray, J.A. Graves, J.E. Etheridge, J.T. 
James and E.P. West.
