The Virginian Pilot October 24, 1957   
 
Norfolk-Mrs. Mary (Molly) Chitty Barrom, 87, widow of Frank M. Barrom and 
daughter of Julius B. and Mrs. Emily Etta Driver Chitty, died at a Norfolk 
hospital yesterday at 2:55 a.m.
She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Lorraine B. Gatling, Mrs. Hazel B. 
Holloway and Mrs. Mildred B. Savage, all of Norfolk, and Mrs. Myrtle B. 
Ingersoll, of San Diego, Calif.; a son, Frank (Red) Barrom, of Norfolk; two 
sisters, Mrs. Nellie Hutchins, of Lincoln, Neb., and Mrs. Elsie Norris, of 
Baltimore; a brother, Eddie C. Chitty, of Norfolk; three grandchildren, Mrs. 
Dorothy Gatling Serra, Mrs. Vivian Gatling Carroll and Elmer (Bill) Holloway, 
all of Norfolk, and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Barrom was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, residing at 1534 Chela Street. 
She was a member of the Congregational Christian Temple, Rebekah Lodge 13, 
I.O.O.F., and W.B.A. 5.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home Friday at 
3 p.m.
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
