BARRON DIES AFTER SHORT ILLNESS James Asbury Barron, a highly respected citizen of Berkley, died Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock in his home in Eleventh street. The cause of his death was heart failure. Mr. Barron was ill about a week. He was born in Savannah, Ga., and was 56 years old and had resided here for the past twenty-five years. Mr. Barron was in the employ of the Norfolk and Southern railroad, having been connected with it since it was constructed. He superintended the building of the Northwest Bridge. Later he was promoted to the position of supervisor of tracks and in a few years was made superintendent of bridges and buildings. He was one of the best informed men connected with the N. and S. railroad so far as the condition of the system was concerned. He at one time took much interest in the politics of Norfolk County as a democrat. He is survived by his wife and two children -- William Barron, of South Norfolk and Miss Rosa Barron, of Berkley. The funeral will take place this afternoon at 3 o'clock in the home, and the interment will be made in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley.
