Mr. Barron was born in Norfolk Aug. 15, 1911, and was the son of the late Charlotte Anderson Barron and W. Thompson Barron. Mr. Barron was a Navy veteran of World War II and was the district manager for Commercial Metals Co. of Dallas, Texas, until his retirement. He attended Woodbury Forest School and Maryland Institute of Art in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Barron was a member of Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church and past member of its vestry. He was a member and past president of the Norfolk Yacht and Country Club; the Norfolk German Club; past president of Norfolk Senior Club; and an active member of the Cape Henry Audubon Society. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Truxtun Barron; three daughters, Nancy T. Barron of Lexington, Ky., Calvert Barron of San Francisco, Calif., Sally Barron Kunkle of Brookings, Ore.; and three grandchildren. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Christ and St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Norfolk by the Rev. Gordon B. Davis and the Rev. Lottie Cochran. Memorial donations may be made to the Norfolk Senior Center, Norfolk. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
