                         Ocean View Man Stabbed to Death

An argument Saturday ended in the death of a 27-year-old Ocean View resident 
after he was apparently stabbed at his home by a visitor.
William Patrick Barry, of the 700 block of West Ocean View Avenue, died at De 
Paul Hospital at about 8:30 p.m. while undergoing surgery for stab wounds to his 
left chest and right side, police said.
Police arrested Randy M. Duncan, 22, of the 9600 block of 13th Bay Street, and 
charged him with murder. Duncan was released on a $5,000 bond.
Duncan was arrested Sunday afternoon after being released from De Paul Hospital, 
where he had been treated for a leg injury.
Police said the two friends got into a fight after Duncan tried to break up a 
fight between Barry and his girlfriend, Janice Pridemore.  Barry was apparently 
stabbed during the scuffle.
Barry, a native of Bainbridge, Md., was a plumber. 
He is survived by his parents, Timothy A. Barry and Mrs. Mary McDonough Barry. 
Other survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Kathleen Morris, Miss Maureen Barry, 
Miss Theresa Barry and Mrs. Mary Pyle, all of Norfolk; two brothers, Timothy K. 
Barry and Michael Barry, both of Norfolk and a maternal grandmother, Mrs. A.E. 
Price of New York.
A funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X. Catholic Church. Burial 
will be in St Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m. today in H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, Norfolk. The family will be at 2448 Malden Ave., Norfolk.
