Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark March  29, 1932

Mrs. Mary Virginia Barry, aged 75, widow of Thomas Moran Barry, died at Mathews 
Court House yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock after a brief illness. Mrs. 
Barry was a native and well known resident of Norfolk and had been spending the 
winter with her daughter at Mathews Court House. She is survived by two 
daughters, Mrs. Herbert Iasigi, of Hartford, Conn. and Mrs. Edgar Foster, of 
Mathews; three sons, C. Moran, James E. and Fred R. Barry; 11 grandchildren and 
one sister, Mrs. Clarence Carson, of Washington, D.C.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Mrs. Mary Virginia Barry — Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Virginia Barry, widow 
of Thomas Moran Barry, whose death occurred Monday afternoon, were held at 10 
o’clock yesterday morning at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. 
Leo J. Ryan, officiating. The Rev. R. B. Kealey and the Rev. Martin Quinn were 
present in the sanctuary. During the service, Mrs. R. P. Smith sang “Abide With 
Me,” with Mrs. C. 
R. Davies, accompanist. There was a large attendance and many floral offerings. 
The casket was covered with a pall of Easter lilies, snapdragons and ferns. 
Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The pallbearers were Frank C. Malbon, Dr. 
George T. Myers, Emmett Hogan, William B. Ryan, Frank A. Evans, Richard A. 
Jones, Rufus Parks and Zach Toms.
