VIRGINIA BEACH — Rudolph John Bartol, 71, of the 200 block of Foley Lane, a 
retired supermarket manager, died Jan. 7,1987, in a hospital.

Mr. Bartol, a native of Norfolk, retired from Boulevard Supermarket of Chesapeake. 
He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and an Army veteran of World 
War II.

Survivors include his wife, Willetta J. Bartol; a daughter, Patricia A. Bartol; 
three stepdaughters, Berneda Strickland, Ruth Jacinto and Nancy Withrow; a son, 
Frank Bartol; and a stepson, David Strickland, all of Virginia Beach; and eight 
grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in Smith & Williams Funeral 
Home, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. J. Michael Breslin. Burial will be in St. 
Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Norfolk. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. today 
in the funeral home, where the family will be until 9 p.m. The family will also be 
at 3801 Bowspirit Circle, Apt. 204.
