Charles Joseph Bashara, 91, of the 6300 block of Eleanor Court, a retired quality 
assurance inspector, died Dec. 16, 1993, in his residence.
Mr. Bashara was a native of Norfolk and a lifelong resident.  He retired from the 
Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 38 years of service.  He was the widower of Nellie H. 
Bashara and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Norfolk; and a 
4th degree member of Knights of Columbus Council (NU)367, Norfolk.
Survivors include a son, Charles V. Bashara of Norfolk; a sister, Rose Diaz of 
Virginia Beach; a brother, Fred G. Bashara, Sr. of Hampton; six grandchildren; and 
seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk, by the Rev. Julian B. Goodman.  Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic 
Cemetery, Norfolk.  A Christian wake service will be held at 6:30 p.m. today in 
the funeral home.
