E. Paul Simms, pastor, officiated. Born in Mecklenburg County, VA., Mr. Baskerville was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Baskerville. He was brought to Norfolk at an early age. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Bute street, where he was active until his health failed. He was a paralytic, and had been sick several years. Mr. Baskerville was a veteran of World War 1. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, and both organizations participated in the funeral services. A firing squad from Fort Eustis, VA., also participated in the burial ceremonies. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Webster Baskerville; one son, Thomas Lee Baskerville; one brother, Charlie Baskerville; two nieces, Mrs. Sadie Burrough and Mrs. Ethel Townsend, both of Norfolk; several cousin and other relatives. Burial was in Calvary cemetery, Norfolk Hale’s funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements.
