The Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 29, 1937
Mrs. Ella Holland Batchelder, aged 79, wife of Benjamin Forrest Batchelder, and 
daughter of Henry and Johanna Lambert Holland, died at her residence, 901 
Colonial avenue, yesterday morning at 12:30 o'clock.  Mrs. Batchelder was a 
native of Norfolk County and a well-known resident of this section where she 
had spent her entire life.  Besides her husband, she is survived by one 
daughter, Mrs. D. Frank Gill.
Funeral services will be held at the residence tomorrow at 12 o'clock noon, 
with the Rev. Thomas A. Smoot, D.D., pastor of Epworth Methodist Episcopal 
Church, of which Mrs. Batchelder was a member, officiating.  Interment will be 
in Elmwood Cemetery.
