Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, May 19, 1990 
Wilbert M. Bates, of the 800 block of E. Princess Anne Road, died May 16, 1990,
in his home.

Mr. Bates, a Norfolk native, was retired from the Norfolk Parks and Recreation
Department.

Survivors include a sister, Dorethea Bates of Washington, D.C.; and two
brothers, Kelvit Bates of Washington, D.C., and Bernard Bates of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Graves Funeral Home by the
Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Friends may join the
family at 2500 Ruffin St.
