George McPhail Batte - The funeral of Mr. Batte, who died in San Francisco, 
December 31, will occur tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. Services will be conducted in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Batte was in his sixtieth year. He was the son of the late George McPhail 
Batte, of Petersburg, and Lucy Buckner Cooke Batte and a nephew of the late 
Willoughby T. Cooke. He left Norfolk about 25 years ago to be associated with 
the Fidelity Guaranty Trust Company of Maryland in Baltimore and soon after was 
made field agent in charge of California, which position he held at the time of 
his death.
He was married in San Francisco, and his widow, Mrs. Eleanor Carson Batte, is 
accompanying the body to Norfolk.
