BATTE, MARY CAMPBELL JONES – At a local hospital, Tuesday, December 3, 1957, at 
3:20 a.m., MARY CAMPBELL JONES BATTE, widow of S. Bassett French Batte and 
daughter of the late DuRoc Hughes and Mary Palmer Green Jones, age 78 years. 
Remains will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial 
Avenue to Christ and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church for services THURSDAY AFTERNOON 
at 2 o’clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment, Elmwood 
Cemetery.
