Virginia Beach - A funeral rite, arranged by Hale Funeral Home, was conducted
Nov. 24 in Hale's chapel for Mrs. Estelle Batten who died Nov. 21 in a nursing
home after a short illness.

A native of Yorktown, she was the widow of Lee Batten and a daughter of the late
Jacob and Mrs. Margaret Jefferson.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Oka of New York; a brother, Thomas
Jefferson, of Hampton, and a sister, Mrs. Daisy Batten of Norfolk.
