Virginian Pilot April 2, 1902

The funeral  of Mr. Noah L. Batten, who died at his home on Princess Anne Road 
Sunday, took place Tuesday at his late residence at 3:30 o'clock and was conducted 
by Rev. J.J. Hall, pastor of Park Avenue Baptist Church, after which the remains 
were taken to Elmwood Cemetery for interment.  Lafayette Lodge, I.O.O.F., and 
Industry Council, Jr. O.U.A.M. were in attendance. The following gentlemen were 
the pallbearers: H.G. Pruitt, J.L. Powers, C.M. Humphreys, L.W. Brabble, G.H. 
Capps, J.E. Brothers and William Dey.
