The Virginian Pilot, Thursday, April 6, 1989   

Bertha C. Battle, of the 500 block of Liberty St., died April 4, 1989 in a 
hospital.

Mrs. Battle, a native of Nash County, N.C., was the widow of Henry Battle and a 
member of First Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include four nieces, among them, Dicey Watson, Elizabeth Lancaster and 
Josephine Williams, all of Norfolk.

The funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at Riddick Funeral Service. 
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday. 
Friends may join the family at the residence.
