The Virginian Pilot, Tuesday, August 8, 1972 

Buddy Battle of 881 Memphis St., the husband of Mrs. Ethel Battle, died Monday in a
hospital.

A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., he was a son of the late John Henry and Mrs. Elvie
Parker Battle.

Besides his widow, surviving are four brothers, William Battle, Willie Battle,
Robert Battle and John Battle Jr. of Norfolk; four sisters, Misses Tempie Battle,
Eva Battle and Viola Battle of Norfolk and Gladys Battle of Englewood, N.J.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in Hale Funeral Chapel by the
Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
