The Virginian Pilot, Sunday, April 12, 1970  

Mrs. Beatrice Battle of 1610 Church St. died Friday in a hospital.
A native of Rocky Mount, N.C., she was a daughter of Junius Powell and the late Mrs.
Mary Powell and the widow of Winfred Battle.

Besides her father, she is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Beulah Heard of
Norfolk.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
