COL. GEORGE W. BATTLEY

The obsequies of Colonel George W. Battley were held from his late residence, 107 
Redgate Avenue, Ghent, at 3 o’clock yesterday afternoon, and was numerously 
attended, including a delegation of the Knights of Pythias, of which the deceased 
was a prominent member. There was a profusion of beautiful floral tributes. The 
service was conducted by Rev. Father R. A. Drake of the Sacred Heart Catholic 
Church and Rev. Father John Doherty of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The interment 
was in St. Mary’s cemetery.
Following were the pall-bearers: M. T. Friary, Virginius Tucker, W. H. Barnard, P. 
J. Riley, John J. Burke, T. Walton Stanton, W. G. Hill and Samuel G. Williams.
