Neighbors of the family say that some time before Mr. Batts took his bed with the malady from which he was suffering he often told his wife that if he should die first she would not live long after, as he expected to return for her. And true to his prophecy she followed closely behind him. It is stated that she suffered from heart trouble and the shock of her husband’s death was more than she could stand.
