The service was conducted by Rev. William A. Barr, rector of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. There was a very beautiful display of floral tributes, wrought in roses, carnations, lilies of the valley, sweet peas, lilac, swansons, narcissus, violets, fresias, smilax, asparagus and maiden hair fern and other flowers and greenery. A large and magnificent wreath, standing five feet high, was sent from the attaches of the Norfolk offices of the Atlantic Coast Line Railway; a lovely pillow was sent from the attaches of the Pinner’s Point division of the A.C.L. Railway, and a very handsome “Gates Ajar” was sent from the Conclave of Heptasophs No. 252, of which he was a member. The deceased had for eighteen years been connected with the Atlantic Coast Line Railway. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, the flowing being the pall- bearers: R.R. Fitchett, W.J. Carter, A.C. Serpell, J.P. Weston, E.W. Dashield, G.W. Cherry, E.N. Morris, W.J. Bidgood and M. Wagenheim.
