Virginian Pilot February 18, 1909

William J. Baum, 67 years old, died yesterday morning at 11 o'clock at his home in 
State street after an illness of several months.
The deceased was a native of North Carolina and had been residing here about a 
year.  He is survived by his wife and five children, three sons and two daughters-
-W.J. Baum, in life saving service at station No. 5, Virginia Beach; J.V. Baum, 
Long Island and William Baum of this city, and Mesdames Samuel Melson and J.C. 
Tillett.
The funeral will be conducted from the residence this morning at 11 o'clock, Rev. 
T. McN. Simpson, D.D., officiating and interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
