He had been sick for some time. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Baum of this city, who survive him. He is also survived by a widow, who was Miss Susie Beaver of Washington, D.C. and one child; a brother, W.J. Baum of Norfolk and four sisters, Mrs. John T. Allen of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Frank Smith of Norfolk and Misses Floyd M. and Minnie P. Baum of Norfolk. Mr. Baum was well known and highly esteemed by a large number of friends and acquaintances. He was a member of Cumberland Street Methodist Church and Rev. Dr. Starr, pastor of that church, will conduct the funeral services which will be held at the residence Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. ****************** BAUM - At the residence, No. 275 York Street, Thursday, June 3, 1909, at 10:30 o'clock a.m., ERNEST LINWOOD, son of J.C. and Virginia C. Baum, in the 29th year of his age. Funeral services from the residence TOMORROW (Saturday) AFTERNOON at 3 o'clock. Friends of the family are invited to attend. Interment private.
