Richard Bernard Baxter, 58, of 708 Aragona Blvd., a native of Rosedale, Ky., who lived in Tidewater 16 years, died Saturday in a hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Antoinette Contrado Baxter. Baxter, a veteran of World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars, retired in 1966 after a 23-year career. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Virginia Beach Chapter 20; American Association of Retired Persons; and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Patricia Grant of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Mrs. Goldie Tiswell of Dayton, Ohio; and a grandchild. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and tonight from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
