T. J. BAYTON PASSES AWAY Rev. Thomas J. Bayton, one of the oldest members of the Virginia Conference, died this morning at 5 o'clock in his home near Colerain, N.C. His body will be brought to Norfolk for funeral and interment. Mr. Bayton was 91 years old and well known in this section, where he had been assigned to several of the largest churches and had served as presiding elder of the district. He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. J.H. Jernigan and Mrs. V.C. Matthews, both of Norfolk; Mrs. C.F. Blackburn, of Washington, D.C. and Miss Katherine Bayton, of Colerain. The funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. **************************************************************************** The funeral of Rev. T.J. Bayton took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock in the residence of his daughter, Mrs. V.C. Matthews, 516 Boissevain Avenue. The services were conducted by Rev. S.T. Senter, D.D., pastor of Epworth M.E. Church, assisted by Rev. L.B. Betty, pastor of Larchmont M.E. Church. A large number of friends was in attendance at the interment, which took place in Elmwood Cemetery. The following were the pallbearers: Rev. W.W. Royal, Rev. George E. Booker, Rev. G.W. Wray, Rev. E.H. Rowe, Dr. Sanfrod Cooke, Capt. E.V. White, W.W. Vicar and L. Clay Kilby.
