A native of Carteret County, N.C., she was a daughter of John and Mrs. Caroline Goodwin Emery and the widow of Willis Edward Beacham Sr. She was a member of Salvation Army and Ladies Home League. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Curles of Florida, Mrs. Virginia Bardon of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Catherine Joslyn of Chesapeake; five sons, Willie E. Beacham Jr. of Seaford, Vernon V. Beacham of Virginia Beach, Eugene C. Beacham of Portsmouth, and Johnnie W. Beacham and Waverley R. Beacham of Chesapeake; 13 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home by Maj. James Hipps. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
