A native of Pamlico County, N.C., he lived in this area 50 years. He was a Baptist and a retired carpenter of Colonna's Shipyard. He was a son of Anson and Mrs. Sarah Beacham and the husband of Mrs. Elvina Emery Beacham. Besides his widow, surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Curles of the Panama Canal Zone, Mrs. Virginia Barden of Portsmouth, and Mrs. Catherine Joslyn of Norfolk; five sons, Willis E. Beacham Jr. of Washington, Vernon Beacham of Virginia Beach, Eugene C. Beacham of Portsmouth and Johnnie W. Beacham and Waverly R. Beacham of Chesapeake; two sisters, Mrs. Earl Teague and Mrs. Mollie Adkins of Union, S.C.; three brothers, Paul Beacham, Alvin Beacham, and Steve Beacham of Beaufort, N.C., 13 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren.
