Norfolk - Funeral rites will be conducted Friday at 1 p.m. in Bethel Baptist
Church for Mrs. Janie G. Beale of 417 Clay avenue. Mrs. Beale, who died Monday
in a hospital after a long illness, will be buried in Calvary Cemetery. The Rev.
Jesse Arrington will officiate at the services. Riddick Funeral Home will handle
the arrangements.

A native of Como,NC, she was the wife of Luther Beale and a daughter of the late
Charlie and Mrs. Elnora Worthington. Mrs. Beale was a member of Bethel Baptist
Church and its Ladies usher board.

Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Percell Dean, and four brothers,
Eddie Thomas Goodman, Raymond Goodman Richard Lee Goodman, and John Walter
Goodman, all of Norfolk; two sisters, Mrs. Elnora Beale of Norfolk and Mrs.
Geneva Riddick of Como; and five granchildren.
