Virginian Pilot  April 4, 1956

Mrs. Margaret Ellen Bean, 88, widow of George O. Bean, and daughter of Thomas 
and Mrs. Mary Tullen McCarthy, a native of Baltimore and a resident of Norfolk 
the last 37 years, died at the residence, 323 West 27th Street, yesterday at 
9:15 p.m.
Surviving are three nieces, Mrs. Claude Fantone, of Norfolk; Mrs. William 
Pritchard, of Miami, Fla. and Mrs. Ernest Gatling, of Washington.
The body was removed to the H.D. Funeral Apartments.

BEAN, MARGARET ELLEN - At the residence, 323 West 27th Street, Tuesday, April 3, 
1956, at 9:15 p.m., MARGARET ELLEN BEAN, widow of George O. Bean and daughter of 
the late Thomas and Mary Toolen McCarthy, in the 89th year of her age. Remains 
will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church for services SATURDAY MORNING at 10 o'clock. 
Friends of the family are invited to attend.  Interment, St. Mary's Cemetery.
